Privacy policy.

This page explains what happens to the information you send through this site, in plain language and without a wall of defined terms.

Who is responsible

This site is operated under the name DDP Europe, a China-based freight coordination business working the lane between China and the European Union. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation we are the controller of the personal data described here.

Postal address: 1st Floor, No. 17 Chuantang Road, Beiyuan Subdistrict, Yiwu, Zhejiang, China.

What we collect

  • What you send us. If you submit a quote request we receive your name, company, email, and anything else you type into the form — phone number, product description, weights, dimensions, destination and deadline.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records the usual technical data when a page is requested: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs exist to keep the site running and to defend it against abuse.
  • Aggregate analytics. We use a privacy-oriented analytics service that does not set cookies and does not build a profile of individual visitors. We see page counts and countries, not people.

Why we process it, and on what legal basis

We use your details to answer your enquiry and to prepare, book and document a shipment if you become a customer. Under the GDPR that rests on Article 6(1)(b) — processing necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform it.

Server logs and site security rest on Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and free of abuse. We do not send marketing email to people who have only asked for a quote, and we do not sell or rent data to anyone.

How long we keep it

WhatHow long
Quote enquiries that do not become shipments24 months, then deleted
Shipment, customs and invoicing recordsAs long as customs and tax law requires — at least three years, and up to ten where a statutory retention period applies
Server logs30 days
AnalyticsAggregate only, no individual records retained

Where your data goes

Our team works from China, so enquiries and shipment files are processed there. We also use a hosting and content delivery provider (Cloudflare) and an email delivery service to receive form submissions. Those providers process data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Where the GDPR applies to a transfer outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the derogation for transfers necessary for the performance of a contract with you (Article 49(1)(b)), or on standard contractual clauses where a provider requires them. If you need the specific mechanism for your file, ask us and we will put it in writing.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising or cross-site tracking. The analytics we use is cookieless. That is why you do not see a consent banner — there is nothing to consent to. If we ever add something that requires consent, the banner will appear before it runs, not after.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it, or restrict how it is used. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, and where processing rests on consent or contract you can ask for your data in a portable format.

Write to hello@ddpeurope.com and we will respond within one month. If you believe we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the data protection authority in your own country — you do not have to complain to us first.

Children

This is a business-to-business service and is not directed at anyone under sixteen. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
